- Patty Berg did a lot to
- help build the Ladies
- Professional Golf
- Association (LPGA). She
- was the LPGAΓÇÖs first
- president, serving from 1949 to 1952. As a
- player, she won 57 LPGA tournament titles.
- That ranks her third on the all-time list.

- Patty was a terrific all-around athlete when
- she was growing up in Minnesota. She was
- the quarterback on a boysΓÇÖ football team,
- called the 50th Street Tigers. When she was
- 13, she took up golf. Three years later, she
- won the 1934 Minneapolis City
- Championship!
